The Golden Transport Corporation is the fastest goods transporter between Delhi NCR and Jaipur. The company started its operations in 1988 when the founder, Mr Harish Gaba, identified a gap in the speed and efficiency of transport-services on the Delhi-Jaipur route. From a small warehouse in Transport Nagar, Jaipur and a fleet of just two trucks, he started providing next-day time-bound deliveries to his customers. A novelty at the time!
He was among the first small-scale transporters to introduce closed-body container-style trucks and pick-up and door delivery services on this sector. His unwavering belief in timely consignment deliveries above all else paved the way to make The Golden Transport Corporation a go-to name for speed, reliability and transparency.
Currently, the organisation provides time-bound deliveries in Delhi, Jaipur, Gurugram, Noida and Faridabad. It has the largest fleet of last-mile delivery vehicles to provide hassle-free pick-up and door-delivery services to a number of industries.
The Golden Transport Corporation is a family-run business managed by two generation of the Gaba family.
He is the founder and patriarch of The Golden Transport Corporation. He started his journey in the transport industry at a very young age as a manager of a Jaipur-based logistics company. Upon identifying a gap in the services of his peers he took the bold step of setting up his own logistics firm with the promise of next-day deliveries, a USP at the time. A visionary and risk-taker, he is credited with introducing many ‘firsts’ on the routes he operates in. He was an early adopter of doorstep-delivery and pick-up services and introduced closed body container style trucks on the Delhi (NCR)-Jaipur route early on. Despite the sector being highly unorganised, he ensured he built a process driven organisation, playing by the rule book, long before his peers recognised the importance of following these standards. He is famed for his ability to charge a premium and for being a stickler for rules. Post his 60th birthday he moved into the role of a guide and mentor to everyone at the firm he so lovingly built.
He leads The Golden Transport Corporation from the front ensuring the highest standards of service and customer satisfaction are delivered every day. A wiz at maintaining client relations, managing people and handling operations, he is the force that drives the success of the organisation. He joined the family business in 2008, right after finishing Bachelor’s of Business Administration from Birla Institute of Technology, (Jaipur Campus) an integral part of Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra (Ranchi). Under his leadership, The Golden Transport Corporation grew into a professionally run organisation delivering the fastest and most reliable services to over 2500 customers each day. A people-person, he put in place systems and processes to nurture the driver and labour community and helped break the cycle of mistrust. His efforts to align everyone’s interests towards a common goal have created a unique harmonious organisation delivering high service standards by keeping everyone’s welfare at its core.
A trailblazer in the logistics industry, she joined the organisation when there were hardly any women leaders venturing in this sector. She took up the daunting task of managing company finance and ensuring all branches followed uniform processes. Long before ERP systems simplified tracking parcels and accounting for them, she put in place checks and balances that were impossible to evade. She weeded out malpractices and brought in structure and accountability to the organisation’s daily operations. The systems enforced by her were directly responsible for an uptick in revenue and cash collections from the get go. Even today, she keenly observes the company’s cash flow and derives actionable insights for the entire team.
She started her career as a business journalist with Fortune India magazine spending over five years writing about the movers and shakers of India Inc. She joined The Golden Transport Corporation in November, 2019 with the sole focus of creating a people-centric business model in the logistics industry. By challenging preconceived notions about the sector and brining in technology to solve problems she is striving to create a future-ready organisation. She looks after Finance, CSR, HR, IT and admin departments and is engaged in bringing in a more tech-driven way of management across the company.
